While in Atlanta for Colin Bernardino's wedding and with a little Saturday morning free time, we discovered the Barack Obama rally at Georgia Tech. The wedding was a wonderful event and another opportunity for the Walstrom sisters to get together.
Planned Parenthood Siege
Every Good Friday, a large number of anti-choice protesters descend on the St. Paul Planned Parenthood clinic with PA system, instruments, the whole nine yards. I've also seen them harass clients attempting to enter, necessitating extra security. PP meets the challenge with a balancing demonstration and fund-raising geared to the number of "anti-" protesters.
Health Care at the Capitol
Dedicated folks from the Minnesota Universal Health Care Coalition put in a strong showing at the Capitol for the committee hearing on Sen. John Marty's bill to study and identify the best way to achieve universal health care for the state.
Health Care at the DFL Biz Meeting
The DFL business meeting in North Branch, MN featured training sessions on health care and sustainability. Both were well attended and successful. I distributed a summary of arguments for single payer health care
